Dream Weaver With fingers like needles
She twines and she weaves
The evening's organza veil
Into a canopy of leaves
On the insides of your eyelids,
Veined like slender beams
Reaching up to caress
The vaulted dome of dreams.

With fingers like hooks
She binds the gossamer thread
Upon which dance reveries,
Undisturbed by the tread
Of mute wingèd feet
In hushed escapade, a thief
Minuetting 'cross the haze
Of a midsummer's eve.

With fingers like pins
She sews, deft and nimble,
A stitch-by-stitch tango
Of silk, needle and thimble
While the spindles spin
And unwind the spool of reality
Into an ethereal shroud

The Cherry Tree The December before Autumn was born, her mother planted a cherry tree in the southwest corner of their back garden, just short of where the shadows cast by the tallest firs on the hill fell.
